Hydromax USA (HUSA) recently completed the inspection of more than 170,000 LF of large diameter interceptors in Minneapolis and St. Paul on behalf of the Metropolitan Council (MCES) and Brown & Caldwell (B&C). In February 2012, MCES executed a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with (B&C) to provide Interceptor Engineering Support including inspection and condition assessment services for their large diameter interceptors. B&C selected HUSA to perform the tunnel/ interceptor inspections using a 3D/LiDAR multi-sensor inspection platform. The first inspection related task authorization under this MSA covered inspection of five (5) large diameter interceptors located within the city of Minneapolis totaling approximately 110,300 lineal feet. Some manholes/ access shafts were as deep as 200 feet, which required superior manned entry equipment and support, including electric winches (w/ manual redundancy) and self-contained breathing apparatuses. Based on HUSA’s strong field performance, the clients chose to award a subsequent task authorization of approximately 70,000LF of deep interceptor inspections in St. Paul. HUSA also performed manhole/structure inspections using the IBAK Panoramo inspection system.
