Hydromax USA began performing multiple field tasks for Arcadis U.S. in support of engineering analysis and development of a Phase 2 Long Term Control Plan for the City of Lancaster, Ohio. The field work is intended to last approximately five months and will include collection of necessary data to calibrate the hydraulic model and evaluate existing system conditions in the combined system

The project includes installation and maintenance of 32 flow meters throughout the system, assisting the City in the installation and maintenance of 8 City-owned meters, rain gauges and stream level gauges on the Hocking River. The sites include sanitary, combined and combined structure overflows with varying pipe shapes and sizes that range from 8-inch to 60-inch in diameter. Data from all the gauges will be accessible to Arcadis within 48 hours of collection by the field crews and processed data will be provided monthly enabling timely evaluation.

HUSA’s commitment to communication and timely service to Arcadis and the City combined with a high level of expertise and the best resources to obtain accurate data are essential to the success of this project.

Each engineering firm was selected by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to develop a rehabilitation design.

The dams are considered high hazard dams based on insufficient spillway capacity to meet Virginia’s Dam Safety Regulations. Although the two earth dams are nearly identical, the method of inspection was unique to each due to field conditions.

HUSA performed CCTV inspection of the Briery Branch Dam from the outlet end of the downstream barrel and inspected the Hone Quarry Dam from the 40-foot riser structure in the reservoir.
